AZ TRACTOR- TRAILER (MELT)

Approved as a vocational program under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005 

Get the skills you need to succeed in a challenging and rewarding career. Ontario G licence holders wanting to obtain AZ licence will have to successfully complete the mandatory entry-level training course (MELT) before attempting their Class A Road Test

AZ Tractor – Trailer (MELT)

·         116 hours of training over 5 weeks.

·         37 Hours: In–Class Training

·         17 Hours: In-yard training including  Inspection, coupling & uncoupling

·         12 Hours Air Brake Course

·         50 Hours: One-on-One, on-road, and off-road driving

Master the Basic Skills:

Techniques including: – driving in traffic, backing and parking, defensive driving, speed control, braking, steering control and reverse parking.

Learn advanced skills: left right turns and lane change in heavy traffic & Driving in bad weather. Qualified and experienced instructors.

Admission Requirements

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent

OR

  • At least 18 years of age and pass the Wonderlic SLE (passing score of 12)

AND

  • Class G license

  • MTO Class A Written (includes MTO Medical and MTO Signs & Road Rules test)

D Truck

This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.

D Truck Driving Program is designed by highly qualified professionals to learn all the necessary information required to get their D License Training. We will prepare you to pass the knowledge test of the air brake z endorsement. The practical component of the course will prepare an individual to pass the Ministry of Transportation Road Test and the Air Brake Endorsement (Z). It includes advanced skills, Basic Driving Techniques, Defensive Driving, Pre & Post Trip Inspection Activities, Safety Regulations and Driving Emergencies including current regulatory Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards.

Admission Requirements

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Licence
  • Completed Medial Form ( MTO approved form)
  • Knowledge verification of Rules of the Road and signs of Class ‘D’

Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Course

This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.

If you plan to upgrade your current Class “G” license to a higher class, you need the 12 hours air brake course. We will conduct the 12 hour Ministry of Transportation approved Air Brake Endorsement Course. Here we teach you Braking Fundamentals, Fundamentals of compressed air, Vehicle braking systems, System operationOnce you complete Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Program, applicant will receive the certificate.  Present certificate to a Drive Test Centre to add the Z endorsement to your licence.

Admission Requirements

  • 12 hour Ministry of Transportation approved OSL Air Brake Endorsement course including theoretical and practical training includes:
  • ​OSL Air Brake Endorsement Manual
  • Minimum 12 hours of in-class instruction
  • 2 Attempts of Written and Practical Test
  • Receipt of Air Brake Endorsement Certificate once both Written and Practical Test Results are successful
